A Gateway to Quakerism in New England

Engaging the Past to Repair the Present

A presentation by Louise Dunlap (Friends Room / Open Zoom)

Loading Events

In a world beset with multiple crises, Louise Dunlap — author, Buddhist practitioner, and longtime friend of FMC now living in Oakland, California — will speak about what she learned looking back at her family’s history during early settlement and the formation of this country. As she wrote Inherited Silence: Listening to the Land; Healing the Colonizer Mind, Louise began to see new answers to some of today’s most pressing problems and joined Indigenous and settler work to repair the harm of our history. She’ll share current stories of “good news,” not just from California and Oak Flat in Arizona but also from the northeast and will offer queries to stimulate discussion. Her book can be ordered here with the code PEACE20 for a discount and free shipping.
