Third Sunday Meetings for Worship outside Raytheon
We’ve resumed our third Sunday Meetings for Worship outside Raytheon with new pandemic safety protocols. We’ll conduct our Meeting for Worship in front of one of the many Raytheon offices and laboratories in the Boston area. We stress that this is not a demonstration or protest, and we are not politicizing our spirituality but rather bringing our Light to a barbaric assault on human dignity and life. Raytheon (”Light of the Gods”) is the nation’s and the world’s fourth largest defense contractor, and the leading manufacturer of guided missiles and is developing a new nuclear weapon. The facility on Concord Avenue is one of their premier research and development sites.
We will gather in front of Raytheon on Concord Avenue, Cambridge (intersection at 10 Moulton Street). Parking can be found on Moulton Street, on the next block. You are asked to follow these protocols: You must bring your own chair; you must wear a mask (even though we are outdoors). There will be chalk marks added to the sidewalk (spaced 6 feet apart) to indicate where chairs should be placed. All chairs will be in a single line facing the street. There will be no closing circle after Meeting for Worship. There will be no carpools to/from FMC. Names will be collected so that if anyone gets sick, all attendees can be contacted. The sun and heat can be brutal, so consider bringing an umbrella. We can also sit in the shade across Concord Ave., still maintaining the 6’ separation.
