Poetry Book Launch with Alexander Levering Kern (Friends Room / Open Zoom).
From 12:15-12:30 pm, all those on-site are invited to gather for refreshments, conversation and book signings in the Friends Room. Copies of the book will be available for sale both before and after the event or can be ordered here. At 12:30pm, poetry reading will begin so all those at Afterthoughts who wish to join in are able to attend the reading.
Alex will read poems from his debut book What an Island Knows, which traces twenty years on an island in Maine and explores deeper universal (and Quaker) themes of family, community, spirituality, peace and justice, and the healing powers of rest and nature. He and a couple of other FMC poets share their work.
