Young Adults

Home/Learning/Young Adults

We are a group of young adults, roughly aged 18-35, who gather for potlucks, programs, discussions, outings, and social activities. Recently, we sponsored a wildly successful evening coffeehouse in which friends of varied ages shared poems and readings.

Contact Miranda Henne,, YAF Coordinator, for information about upcoming events at FMC.

New England Yearly Meeting (NEYM) — the community of Quakers of New England — gathers together once a year for our ‘business.’ This upcoming year some of that business involves: discussing white supremacy and how it shows up in our religious / spiritual communities; Friends’ responsibility around climate change; hearing about Quakers’ work on the Poor People’s Campaign; hearing a “Minute” (statement of belief) that was approved by Boston-area Friends about the criminal (in)justice system; and talking about the long-term financial plans for NEYM (and approving the budget for the organization).

In ADDITION to all that, there are YAF fun-times! We’ll have some young adult Friend specific programming / workshops, some activities we do with the high school group, and a dorm that YAFs stay in (if they want to) so folks stay up and play games and tell stories and the like. Plus a trip to a nearby lake, and participation in the coffee house. Oh, and (optional evening) affinity groups.

Registration is here. I hope you’ll consider attending! If you want to hear more about it, send me an email.

In Peace,
