Transgender Day of Remembrance Meeting for Worship (Open Zoom)

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), observed annually on November 20, was instituted in 1999 to honor those who have lost their lives due to violence against transgender people. The large majority of victims of anti-trans violence are trans women of color.

Friends Meeting at Cambridge is planning to observe TDOR on Monday, November 20, with a Called Memorial Meeting for Worship at 6:00 pm on Open Zoom. We will name the 392 transgender people who lost their lives worldwide due to violence between October 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023. We will speak their names, remember their lives and hold them and their loved ones in the Light. All are invited to join us for this solemn event.

To participate using Zoom click this link or provide the Meeting ID: 783 475 1861 and Passcode: 1652 (if requested) on Zoom.com, the Zoom app, or after calling # 1-646-558-8656 .

As we have done in the past, to ensure that this solemn event goes as smoothly as it deserves, we ask you all, as you are led, to be one of the readers of names.

If you are led to participate by reading names, please complete this form to let us know by filling out this form by Sunday, November 19. We will send you your list of names in advance, so you will have opportunity to prepare however you need. We hope to have 20 or so readers.
