Second Bequest Discernment Listening Session (Open Zoom)
The Bequest Discernment Group (Susan Davies, Jane Jackson, Gail Rogers, and Lynne Weiss) is delighted by the enthusiastic response to our calls for proposals for the $400,000 bequest left to FMC by our member Marilee Wheeler, who passed away in June 2020.
The due date for proposals was September 30, and we are no longer accepting proposals at this time. Click here for a summary of the proposals.
We have scheduled three Bequest Listening Sessions so the FMC community can hear from the proposals and ask questions. Given the number of proposals submitted, we expect to schedule one or more additional sessions. The Bequest Discernment group is not a decision-making body. We are simply creating a process to allow the community to consider together how this gift will do the most to nurture our community.
Attendance at all the sessions by all members of the community—newcomers and long-time attenders and members—is strongly encouraged. If you can’t attend them all, please attend as many as you can. We expect this process to be a deep exploration of what it means to be a beloved community.

- Sunday, October 29 from 7:00-8:30 pm on Open Zoom
- Sunday, November 5 from 7:00-8:30 pm on Open Zoom
